Scott's love of nature and photography began at a young age while fishing, hunting, and hiking in northwest Iowa, where he grew up. His first bank loan was at age 16 to buy a telephoto lens for his Pentax camera.

Following high school, he moved to Colorado, where he studied wildlife biology. He would spend the better part of the next 10 years working in and around Alaska's Denali National Park and Preserve.

Scott has been living in northern New England for over 15 years, taking care of gardens and managing properties. He always has his camera handy, and has ample opportunity to photograph the beauty that surrounds him on a daily basis.

He has been focusing his attention on bird photography, as well as painting pet portraits. He has had over 50 portrait commissions in the past 20 years. He paints with oil on linen. Commissions are available upon request. He can be contacted at
