As both a potter and ceramic educator I have been exploring altered shapes since getting my MFA in Ceramics at Syracuse University. I love making things with my hands and working with clay. It is a responsive and demanding medium providing me with a path to connect with something deeper while nourishing my creative longing of making.

Working with symmetrical shapes thrown on the wheel I explore texture and form, pushing, darting, stretching and expanding applied texture, enhancing and reshaping thrown pots

My goal is to create fresh, graceful and spontaneous forms that invite the viewer to pick up and hold.

I recently moved from Massachusetts where I taught ceramics at Newton South High School. I have a studio in Meredith and have taught in the area at Arts Collaborative, New Hampton and Holderness Schools.

My pieces are made with a mid-range stoneware clay; glazes are cone 6 oxidation.
