Diane is a local Meredith resident and ceramic artist. She has always had an interest in art and working with different mediums. Her focus on ceramics began at an early age while attending auctions with her mother. She was fascinated with the process used to make simple functional pieces that have lasted for generations.
She began taking classes at Meredith Bay Pottery and expanded her knowledge and style by working with different ceramic artists in Maine and New Hampshire. Diane has visited pottery studios in Greece, England, Norway, Australia and Turkey. Her travels have provided opportunities to experience different techniques and style. She continues to attend workshops and conferences to explore and expand her work. Her pottery is intended to be used everyday and to enjoy the uniqueness of a handmade piece.
Diane throws most of her pieces on the wheel but also incorporates hand building into her work. She throws with stoneware and porcelain. Diane continues to explore new surface techniques and glaze combinations. Diane has participated in New Hampshire Open Doors for the last several years demonstrating wheel thrown pieces and hand building. She is a member of the New Hampshire Potters Guild.
