Everything in life can be decorated. Even if it’s a minimalist approach, there is always room for an artistic touch.

My favorite artistic activities include needle felting, crocheting, watercolor pencils, singing and playing the ukelele.

What is needle felting? The process of sculpting or painting with wool by punching a barbed needle into the wool over and over again.

Why painting with wool? I was inspired to begin using fiber when I discovered the Scottish fiber artist, Moy Mackay, online. I was flabbergasted to see that her work was created using fiber and not paint. I just had to try it. So I watched YouTube videos and found out what I could about working with fiber. I am now addicted to this medium. One very exciting thing about working with wool is the ability to support local farmers and businesses. There are several shops around that sell roving and many obtain their fiber from their own farm animals, including sheep, goats, rabbits and llamas.
