Christian Slater has been making pottery for about seven years. Born in New Hampton, NH, he spent about 6 years down south, mainly on the east coast of Florida and started his journey in pottery his junior year of high school in Viera, Florida. After graduating in 2012 he joined Horse Creek Pottery, a pottery co-op in Melbourne, Florida.  At the same time, he worked at a paint your own pottery store while practicing his art form. He eventually came back here to Meredith, NH.

A major inspiration for his work comes from his surroundings in the Lakes Region, living in a place of pure beauty with the big lake right at our feet and the great mountains as the backdrop. Most of his work is made on the potter’s wheel, but some are also hand built or joined pieces. He spends any chance he has making new pieces of art. His work can be described as functional and decorative. The local area inspires the rustic charm.

Christian is currently studying at Lakes Region Community College; his major is art education. He is a member of the New Hampshire Potters Guild.
